Where Does Your Donation Go?

Youth in the Monai Village program contribute toward their rent, utilities, food, transportation, and personal expenses whenever possible.

But creating long-term stability takes more than housing alone.

Your donation helps provide:

  • Educational and career guidance

It costs Monai Village approximately $1,100 each month to provide housing assistance and supportive services for one youth.

Youth contribute toward their own expenses whenever possible. Donations help Monai Village cover the remaining housing support, mentorship, transportation, emergency assistance, life-skills development, and individualized services.

Why Your Support Matters Now

Monai Village has grown from a pilot project into an active source of housing and support for young adults aging out of foster care. Until recently, Monai Village has been supported by donations from family, friends, community organizations, and a contract with Washoe County Human Services Agency.

In 2026, Monai Village received a grant from the Wavedance Fund to help support continued growth and stability for the coming year. But long-term stability requires ongoing community support beyond current grants and contracts.

A donation of any size helps Monai Village continue providing affordable housing, guidance, and practical support to youth working toward independence.
