Giving Youth in Transition a Voice

Building a Community to
Transform the Foster Care System

Empowering young adults to succeed

It Takes a Village!

Over 23,000 teenagers in the foster care system turn 18 years old each year. At this age, they are expected to move out and start their lives on their own. Once again, they feel abandoned or neglected in a cycle they know far too well.

Monai Village is a nonprofit organization whose purpose is to assist foster care youth, ages 18-22, to help build structure, from dependent to independent lives.

We provide advocacy, education, and direct services including safe and affordable housing that incorporates comprehensive supportive services to ensure successful transitions into the real world.

Truly transformative programs will not come to fruition until individuals who have personally experienced the child welfare system have a voice in the policymaking process.

Monai Village is dedicated to ensuring their place at the table.
