Projects

Helping create a brighter future for youth in transition.

The Interim Pilot Program

Monai Village is already serving youth in Northern Nevada through our active transitional housing program.

Participants receive:

  • Safe and affordable housing
  • Goal-based support plans
  • Education and career guidance
  • Independent living skill development
  • Mentorship and accountability
  • Community connection and advocacy

Youth contribute toward their own expenses while learning budgeting, responsibility, and long-term stability.

This program is helping young adults move from crisis management toward confident independent living.

Current Program Outcomes

Since launching the pilot program in November 2023 in partnership with Washoe County Human Services Agency,
Monai Village has served 11 youth in our community.
  • 2 youth successfully moved on to their next step
  • 7 youth currently remain in the program
  • Participants are working, seeking work, or attending education/career programs
  • Several participants have maintained stable housing for one year or longer.
  • Participants are moving toward goals they have set for themselves and becoming more confident, self-sufficient, and independent

After years of seeing the positive response to stability and support, Monai Village is ready to expand its services and reach more youth in our community.

Our Vision

We aim to build a 40-unit, fourplex-style residential community on 6–10 acres of land.

This village will provide affordable housing along with access to vocational training, life skills education, and a supportive community. Our mission is to prevent homelessness and ensure young people have the tools and resources they need to thrive — including access to basic needs services that increase mental stability and long-term success.

How It Will Work

We will house 6–12 youth in apartment units within a community complex. This transitional living program teaches independence, accountability, and financial responsibility — all while providing a stable, supportive environment.

Youth contribute toward rent, utilities, and personal expenses based on their individual circumstances, helping them build financial responsibility and money-management skills. Monai Village’s average cost to provide housing and supportive services is approximately $1,100 per youth each month.
